Living In Albany Park
The neighborhood offers a rich ethnic diversity exemplified by dozens of unique grocery stores, restaurants and shopping.
Located eight miles northwest of the Loop and bordering Irving Park and Lincoln Square, housing options in Albany Park range from brick multi-unit courtyard buildings near the Lawrence and Kimball “El” station to classic vintage brick bungalows and two- and three-flats. This is where the Brown line begins and so it’s typically an easy 30 minute ride into the Loop.
Bus travel is also easy as there are several lines that criss-cross the neighborhood. If you drive, street parking in Albany Park is also fairly easy, though like many Chicago neighborhoods some areas require parking permits for street parking.
