Lincoln park is a community that has many attractions and comfortable neighborhood streets that make it an enjoyable place to live. Lincoln Park's boundaries are from North Avenue on the south, Diversey Parkway on the north, Lake Michigan on the east, and the Kennedy Expressway on the west.
Just two miles from downtown, Lincoln park offers a beautiful lakefront and walking path that stretches along Lake Michigan. It provides a perfect escape from the bustle of the city while still being able to take advantage of all that the city has to offer. Many recreational activities are available with playing fields, running paths, a golf course, driving range, and fishing. In the summer months you will see runners along the paths that stretch along the lake and through Lincoln park looking to get some exercise in the evening after a long day of work. Weekends have the beaches and lake front paths filled with families looking to enjoy the weather and beach.
The park is also home to the Lincoln Park Zoo and Lincoln Park Conservatory, both of which attract families and tourists and have no admission charges. Weekly farmers markets throughout the summer and an annual summer festival give the neighborhood a strong community feel.
As one of the older neighborhoods in Chicago, Lincoln Park has been able to maintain its charm by restoring many of its original homes. New, exceptionally expensive homes ($2.5-$4Million) have also been built along streets such as Burling.
