The DePaul University Campus, the largest Roman Catholic University in the United States is located in the Sheffield neighborhood of Lincoln Park. Sheffield is bounded by Armitage Avenue on the south, Fullerton Avenue on the north, Halsted Street on the east, and the Chicago River on the west.
The majority of Sheffield is a National Historic District with Victorian era style homes that date as far back as 1875. Other historic parts of Sheffield include The McCormick Row Houses, the Armitage-Halsted commercial district, the Fremont Row Houses, and the Bissell Street Row Houses.
Students blend with young professionals and established city dwellers to give the DePaul area a lively character. Beautiful shady tree-lined streets, theaters, shops, restaurants, bars and summer festivals including the most popular Sheffield community event, the annual Sheffield Garden Walk make DePaul a highly desirable place to call home.
